About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machining Team Lead to assist in leading the 1s shift production machining team. This role plays a key part in coordinating shift startup, supporting scheduling efforts, and ensuring production goals and quality standards are met under the direction of the Machining Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines and perform machine setups as required.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Verify first-piece inspections and ensure operators complete check sheets accurately.
- Maintain daily production records and documentation.
- Assist in coordinating workflow and scheduling during shifts.
- Provide guidance and support to a team of 10–15 operators.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and ensure efficient operation.
- Train and mentor machine operators (A, B, and C levels).
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain awareness to prevent injury.
- Support implementation and maintenance of 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Assist operators with equipment setup, including gages.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding production, personnel, and improvement opportunities.
- Review and update time and attendance records in Job Boss.
- Complete Time Variance Forms when the supervisor is absent.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including dimensions, tolerances, and revisions.
- Strong understanding of quality inspection tools and techniques.
- Strong Leadership or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues independently.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
